Ford Rolls Out 9 Millionth Mustang
About a week after its 44th anniversary on April 17, the 9 millionth Mustang rolled off Ford’s production line. The milestone Stang is a GT Convertible which is heading west to be delivered to a dealership in Iowa . Introduced on April 17, 1964, at the New York World’s Fair, the Mustang has become -among other things, Ford Motor Company’s longest-running nameplate. The Mustang’s sales hit an amazing 419,000 in its first 12 months on the market in 1967, and topped the 1-million mark in the first two years.
