Original Knight Rider KITT “Super Pursuit Mode” for Sale on eBay

One of the original vehicles from the popular mid-80’s Knight RiderTV series has been put up for sale on eBay. According to the seller, the specific 1984 Pontiac Trans Am KITT was initially introduced in the third season of the series and then re-converted to simulate the "Super Pursuit Mode" variant of KITT that debuted in the 4th season. The vehicle was also used in the Knight Rider Television Movie (1984) and for exhibition and promotional purposes.

As many of you might remember, the "Super Pursuit Mode" variant of KITT was supposedly a stupendously fast version designed to reach speeds of 300mph or 482 km/h through the assistance of retractable airfoils and jet boosters. While we prefer the appearance of the standard KITT, nevertheless, the "Super Pursuit Mode" variant was one of our childhood heroes and as such, we wouldn’t mind seeing it in our garage. -More pics after the jump

eBay: 1978 Pontiac Trans Am Bandit Signed by Burt Reynolds

Just so we can make it clear from the beginning, this fully restored 1978 Pontiac Trans Am is a Bandit replica that has nothing to do with any of the original cars that stared along with Burt Reynolds in the “Smokey and the Bandit” movie series.

Instead, this particular Trans Am that’s equipped with a massive 6.6-liter V8 220Hp engine was loaned to Burt Reynolds to drive while he was helping the “YearOne” company design the new “Burt Builds a Bandit” car.

For what it’s worth, Reynolds has signed the car and the winning bidder will also receive various Burt Reynolds memorabilia like a hat, shirt and a signed picture. The current bid on eBay is approx $46k. –More pictures after the jump

Pontiac G8 Sport Truck Name – Last Call

In a few hours, Pontiac's "Name the G8 Sport Truck"online competition will end so if any of you have any interesting ideas, you'd better hurry up and submit your proposition ASAP. Here at Carscoop we conducted our own "name the G8 pick-up truck" competition and we received many answers. However, there was one particular naming proposition submitted by an anonymous reader of ours that made us laugh hysterically: "How about Ute-r-us, to attract the female buyer?" GM Recalling Supercharged Buick Regal & Pontiac Grand Prix Sedans

Today’s recall concerns 207,542 MY 1997-2003 Buick Regal and Pontiac Grand Prix vehicles equipped with a 3.8L supercharged V6 engine. According to GM, engine oil can leak from the valve cover and migrate during manoeuvres such as hard braking. If by any chance the oil reaches the hot exhaust manifold, it may ignite causing an underhood fire.

Unfortunately for the owners of the affected Regal and Grand Prix models, GM stated that that there’s a current shortage of spare parts. What GM recommends that owners do until sufficient parts become available, is that they take the following precautions:

1. It is strongly recommend that owners do not park their vehicle in a garage, car port, or other structure
2. If owners notice a burning odor, they should have their dealer inspect the vehicle. The dealer will inspect the vehicle without charge
3. Use premium fuel (91 octane or higher) in the vehicle as recommended in the vehicle's owner manual.
