2009 Dodge Challenger Brochure

While not as snazzy as the Challenger SRT8’s media kit (see here), the full brochure for the 2009 Dodge Challenger has its strong points. The first thing that caught our attention were the scrumptious 20-inch Polished Heritage Alloys that are standard on the R/T Classic. They look absolutely stunning and if we set to buy Dodge’s bad-boy muscle car, the retro-themed alloys would be our first choice. Check out the brochure after the jump.

Microsoft and Dodge Launch Challenger R/T Design Competition

For those of you that lack the funds to obtain the new Challenger coupe, Microsoft (through MSN Autos) and Dodge have just launched an online competition with the grand prize being a black 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T with a 6-speed manual transmission.

The competition is called “DreamDesignDrive” and as its name suggests, contestants will have to customize a Dodge Challenger R/T using various tools ranging from detailing, to paint color and to the overall layout of the car. Sounds a bit too Scion-esque if you ask us, but we doubt that it will matter to the grande prize winner that will be announced in September.

Video: Jay Leno Takes His 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 for a Ride

The Tonight Show’s host, Jay Leno has uploaded a video on his… GM sponsored website dubbed “Jay Leno’s Garage” featuring his most recent acquisition, the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. Among other things, Jay Leno states that he is very happy to see that Dodge/Chrysler returned back to American hands and that it's creating products like the Challenger.

Of course, Jay Leno seems to forget that the decision to create the Challenger was taken during the time that Daimler controlled Chrysler and that Dodge’s modern muscle car features components derived from the discontinued W210 Mercedes-Benz E-Class… -Video after the jump

Dodge Challenger SRT8 by Speedfactory Supercharged to 600Hp

Let the mods begin; as soon as the guys over at Speedfactory received their first 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 they went straight to work adding a 5.5 lb supercharger as the first step (Stage 1). According to Speedfactory’s initial dyno results, the 6.1-liter supercharged Hemi V8 delivers 496Hp to the rear wheels, meaning that there should be around 600Hp at the crankshaft. Check out more pictures of the Speedfactory prepped Challenger SRT8 along with the dyno results after the jump. -Continued

The more desirable R/T model with its 5.7-liter V8 Hemi kicks off at $29,995, while the top-spec SRT8 model which is already on sale, received a $2,000 bump and it now starts off from $39,995. -Continued

The Challenger SE features a 250Hp a 3.5-liter V6 engine matted to a four-speed automatic transmission achieving an estimated 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.
