Video: 2009 Maserati Quattroporte Facelift

Leaving aside the subtle design tweaks, the biggest change in the 2009 Maserati Quattroporte is the introduction of a new range-topping model dubbed the Quattroporte S. While the standard version is fitted with the familiar 400 Hp 4.2-litre V8 engine, the Quattroporte S adopts the new 430 Hp 4.7-litre V8 recently introduced on the GranTurismo S. Maserati Hosts Prive Ladies Day in London

Maserati’s UK arm hosted a special day for their lady clients last week at one of London’s trendy clubs, the Hurlingham. The Italian sports carmaker’s clients were joined by supermodel and Maserati ambassador Jodie Kidd and Fifth-Gear TV presenter Vicki Butler-Henderson (the first woman to ever win a race in a Maserati). Maserati Quattroporte “ala” Burberry

What a horrid fate for such a beautiful vehicle; well before Maserati even dreamt about redesigning the Quattroporte, this Saudi Arabian owner of the Italian sports sedan decided to perform a facelift of his own by (w)rapping the entire vehicle in what seems to be some sort of Burberry themed perforated plastic cover. 2009 Maserati Quattroporte Facelift – New “S” Version with 430Hp

The most upscale Italian sedan, the Quattroporte has received a series of subtle changes for the 2009 M.Y. while Maserati also enhanced the range with the introduction of a new sport version equipped with the Gran Turismo S derived 4.7-liter V8 engine that develops 430Hp. The base model continues to use the 400Hp strong 4.2-liter V8 unit.

The most prominent design change on the 2009 Quattroporte sedan is the new front grille with the vertical chromed strips. Other than that, the 2009 model features redesigned bumpers, LED tail-lights and new mirrors while inside, changes include the reworked centre console and improved multimedia system. -Continued

Maserati Quattroporte Bellagio Fastback To Be Produced in Limited Series

If “Carozzeria Touring Superleggera’s” prime objective was to impress us with the two unique vehicles that they presented at the Concorso d'Eleganza classic car show, then we’re obliged to say that they succeeded. Like the A8CGS Berlinetta Coupe (click here), the Bellagio Fastback Touring is based on a series Maserati and in particular, the Quattroporte Sedan.

The Italian coachbuilder’s design team did a wonderful job in turning the Quattroporte sedan into fastback/station-wagon hybrid. And while the Bellagio retains the same exact exterior dimensions as the sedan, it’s more practical and it also boasts an additional 50 liters of trunk space at 500lt (sedan’s 450lt) which can be boosted to 1,500lt if you drop down the folding rear seats. -Continued

Moreover, the transformation of the Quattroporte into a fastback did not have any serious impact on the overall weight as according to Carozzeria Touring, the Fastback weighs a mere 50 kg / 110 lbs more than the sedan.

Equipped with the same 400 Hp 4.2-liter V8 engine as the sedan, the Bellagio Fastback Touring manages to go from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.2 sec and on to a top speed of 275 km/h or 171 mph – same exact figures as the Quattroporte sedan.

So it’s beautiful, practical and fast, but will they build it? Yes, Carozzeria Touring officially announced that the Bellagio Fastback Touring will be produced in a limited edition run. Customers will be able to further personalize the Bellagio with different colours, interiors, materials and extras. According to the Italian coachbuilder “prices will be identical or even lower than equivalent sportscars” – whatever that means…
