Supped Up Geely King Kong

We’re not kidding; this compact sedan from Chinese automaker Geely is actually called King Kong. When a car bears a name like that, you can’t possibly expect any tasteful mods whatsoever. There are plenty of elements worth mentioning on the customized King Kong but we’ll stop at the “VIP” and “Mugen” badges that adorn the car’s rear-end, right under the “Beam me up Scotty” spoiler wing. -More pics after the jump

Beijing Show: Geely FC2 & FC3

Geely’s never-ending offerings for this week’s 2008 Beijing Auto Show continue with the revelation of two more models called the FC2 and FC3. Based on the same architecture, the FC2 is a compact 5-door hatch while the FC3 is a compact-sized 4-door sedan. The Chinese manufacturer supports that both models meet European standards in terms of crash-test worthiness and emissions, but that’s something that will have to be proven when the two models go on sale on the other side of the Atlantic. –One more pic after the jump

Beijing Show: Geely GC Sedan Concept

We’re not sure how many of Geely’s dozen or so Beijing Auto Show concept cars will actually make it into production, but the GC sedan sure looks like it could be one of them. From what we can tell from the pictures as Geely insists on withholding information on its Beijing Show vehicles, the GC appears to be about the same size as a Legacy - now you all know why we picked the Subaru out of all mid-size sedans... –One more pic after the jump

Geely to Show NL SUV Concept in Bejing

Geely is one of the most active carmakers at this year’s China Auto Show that’s set to take place in Beijing from April 20 to 28 as it’s planning to present a whopping 23 new production models and concepts at its 1500 square meters exhibiting area. Our latest discovery from the Chinese automaker’s Beijing Show stable is the NL Concept, a compact-sized Crossover that looks like a cross between a Chevy and a Ford Kuga SUV. Even so, we must admit that it does look good. –One more pic after the jump

Déjà vu: Geely HL MPV & Honda Accord - Acura TSX

Sure we altered the perspective of the 2009 European Honda Accord SW (Acura TSX in the States) to make it look more like Geely's new HL MPV that'll premiere in Beijing next month. We’re also guilty of erasing two chrome bars from the grille and adding crystal clear turning lights along with a background. But we swear that’s all we did in the 20 minutes it took us to create this picture. Think we have a chance of getting a job at Geely’s design department?

Geely GE MPV Coming to 2008 Beijing Auto Show

We’re gearing up here at Carscoop for this year’s Beijing Auto Show which is expected to host a wide variety of premieres from Chinese and other car manufactures. Up until now, Geely has announced two debuts for the Beijing car show in April.

Apart from the GT Coupe concept that we showed you yesterday, the Chinese automaker will also present the GE MPV which looks like it was partially inspired –that’s a phrase we’re going to hear more than once- from the European Ford Mondeo. Other than that, we don’t have any information whatsoever on the mid-size minivan, but we’ll try to find out more later on.

Geely GT Concept Heading for 2008 Beijing Auto Show

Before you get all wound up and start commenting about the design of Geely’s new GT Concept Coupe that’ll premier at the Beijing Auto Show this April, while we too find its styling reminiscent of other cars like the Maybach Exelero or the Maserati GranTurismo Coupe, we must admit that our first impressions are positive. Of course we’ll have to wait to see more angles of the car to make our final evaluation. –One more pic after the jump

Boo, It’s the Geely Aoo...

Our first thought upon seeing the Geely Aoo was that someone in China managed to create the perfect movie car for the manic masked killer from the Scream Trilogy. Well, we were wrong, as this freak of a car will actually go on sale in China after its debut at the Guangzhou Auto later this year. -Continued after the jump

The goggle-eyed Geely Boo –er, we mean Aoo, is said to be powered by a 3-cylinder petrol unit. But who cares; it’s not as if Geely’s going to sell it outside China. You know something, maybe its better if Chinese automakers stick to replicating European or Japanese cars rather than trying to design them…
